TRAINING
Q why do I need training?
A Motorcycles represent less than 2% of the total vehicle fleet in Ireland yet we are represented in road collision statistics (on average each year motorcyclists and pillion passengers account for 12% of fatalities)
Q My mates drive bikes why can’t I learn from them?
A Your friends may have experience but the information they provide may be fatally flawed. LEARN FROM TRAINED PROFESSIONALS.
Q I don’t need training I driven bikes for years I wont gain any thing from training
A The day you think you know it all is the day to hang up your leathers after riding bikes over twenty five years, I am still learning, bike technology,, tyre technology is constantly improving so what was relevant two years ago is now outdated skills need to be updated to to keep you safe
COMPULSERY BIKE TRAINING
It is envisaged that (c.b.t.) Will become law in Ireland in 2008 anyone who applies for a learner permit class A1, A, or M will have to undergo 16 hours training by an R.S.A. APPROVED DRIVING INSTRUCTOR.
When the trainee has received the minimum 16 hours the permit will be validated by the instructor.
The validated permit then allows the holder to ride their machine unaccompanied.
It should be noted that the 16 hrs is a minimum requirement by law and should not be taken as having completed a full training course.

Foreword
All courses start with a safety brief
The courses are run in an informal friendly manner and tailored to suit your needs
Tony appreciates that people learn at different speeds and with this in mind the courses are run to suit the trainee not the instructor.
Although each course has a set syllabus the course you choose will be tailored to suit what you want to achieve from the course
The serious stuff.
Before the start of any course your documentation will be checked (licence, permit) insurance (where applicable) and you will be invited to check the instructors permits (adi). If you are using your own bike you must produce a current insurance cert and your machine must be in a roadworthy condition.
ADVANCED
The advanced course is aimed at riders who would like to advance their road skills and teaches various techniques to improve their machine control and roadcraft, advanced students may also be considering moving on to be an instructor themselves or may be considering advanced courses i.e. rospa, institute of advanced motorists, etc and the course can be tailored to suit that objective. The course is also aimed at riders who may be considering track days and looking to achieve the Holy Grail for most sports bike bikers (getting your knee down)

Beginners
The beginners course speaks for itself the course involves a safety brief covering all aspects of your bike and safety equipment an introduction to your bike, part names, function of controls and basic maintenance..
Now we move on to the fun part learning to ride the bike this is done in a controlled environment away from public roads.
Once the student has demonstrated a competent level of skill the instructor will move the lessons on to the public roads. This course will bring you from a complete beginner up to a competent standard which will enable you to pass your driving test.

Complementary
The complementary course is aimed at the rider who can ride a bike and wants to improve their bike skills and road craft.
In particular the course is aimed at people who and may have had one fright to many i.e. entering a corner to fast and panic braking, running wide coming out of a corner or in general having a near miss.
This course also targets riders who are getting back into bikes or may not have ridden a machine for a number of months after the winter. And feel they need to brush up on their machine skills.
In addition the course is ideal for riders who have booked their test and would benefit from a few pre test lessons.
